Account management system for a health care organization

Objectives

It should be mentioned that the customer was absolutely unaware of the processes of work within IT-industry. He represented a huge network of private health care centers. Relying on his long experience the customer came to a conclusion that the health care industry fails effective business solutions, which included a software sector to enable the efficient usage of data. It resulted in the project initiation, which should serve to ease the access to the medical data and to improve the quality of the patient care.

All the information of the health care industry was stored in Oracle database. The process of report generating was held in Oracle BI Answers. All the reports were displayed on a specially developed directory displays.

Solution

Considering that the customer wasn’t competent of the project management, being only the product owner, our company had to involve a project manager to manage the workflow and represent the customer to relieve him from unreasonable necessity to contact to the developers. The customer took into account the positive recommendations which our company earned during the years of patient work, and agreed upon the suggested scheme of work and signed the agreement.

The project manager was to work with a task tracker JIRA, to set and distribute task among the dedicated team members, to keep records on working hours, to conduct regressive testing, to provide the customer with daily and weekly reports for control the terms of termination of the project.

Engineering part

The analytical system which contained the health care industry data represented a huge Oracle-based store of data which enabled users to accept reports on various requests using different viewpoints. The main objective for our BI-specialists was to develop reporting procedures which enabled modifying of data presentation (diagrams and tables creation):

  1. the general information on patients
  2. prescription data
  3. local information
  4. schedules of work, etc.

Results

The involvement of the project manager enabled reduction of project terms and total cost. All the requirements of the customer were fulfilled in time, which made him pleased with the results of our work. Even more, the customer thanked us for the idea to involve the project manager in the project. Our developers and managers showed a great competency of the chosen technology.
